The Social Impact Ecosystem in Canada

By working with other academic partners, government, private sector, and community partners, organizations like the Diversity Institute use a systems approach to address barriers for underrepresented groups, improve social outcomes, and support economic growth.

From startups to innovative non-profit organizations, DI created this diagram to illustrate the ecosystem and how it connects.

Ted Rogers School of Management’s Diversity Institute (DI) promotes diversity and inclusion as the key to Canada’s competitiveness. Founded in 1999 by Dr. Wendy Cukier, the Diversity Institute has conducted groundbreaking research on diversity and inclusion in Canada, developed impactful programs like the Newcomer Entrepreneurship Hub, championed legislative change on Bill C-25 and has helped companies understand the opportunities of inclusion and develop tools to harness inclusion as a driver for success. The DI is leading the Government of Canada’s Women Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub and is a partner in the Future Skills Centre.
