For Youth Initiative
Supporting Black, Racialized and Newcomer Youth in Toronto’s York South-Weston
Since 1995, For Youth Initiative has been committed to supporting and equipping Black, racialized and newcomer young people in the York South-Weston area with the tools and mentorship to navigate the unique barriers and challenges they face as they transition to adulthood. They provide inclusive year-round programs and services that are responsive to each young person’s individual journey and needs.
Leading up to and throughout the organization’s 25th Anniversary, Now supported this non-profit on an ongoing basis.
Now had the opportunity to work with For Youth Initiative on a wide variety of projects including the creation of a new brand identity, writing press releases, building a website, social media management and helping facilitate a major fundraising campaign.
As part of For Youth Initiative’s mission to impact youth, they created the FYI Future Fund – a campaign aimed at raising funds for youth in York South-Weston who are attending post-secondary institutions, including college, university, trade schools and certificate programs. Now supported this campaign which successfully achieved its goal.
Now also designed Annual Reports and Strategic Reports to help the organization showcase their impact, along with creating materials for the organization including presentations, letterhead and posters.
As part of the online fundraising campaign, Now developed materials to showcase the organization’s past accomplishments, highlight the need and how For Youth Initiative is the right organization to address it. These materials included infographics such as this.
Upon successful completion of the fundraising campaign, Now issued a press release. To celebrate their 25th anniversary, For Youth Initiative awarded 25 scholarships for local youth who are committed to giving back to their community.
For Youth Initiative’s multi-service agency provides year-round programs and services to local youth to meet their needs and empower them to reach their full potential. Every young person’s journey is unique and their needs are too. Their case management model meets young people where they are and helps them get to where they want to be. Their programs and services are designed to support youth to graduate high school, enroll in post-secondary education, gain employment and prepare for adulthood.
